What will students see and do?
The Bushcraft Company creates transformative outdoor experiences that nurture teamwork, resilience and real-world skills, all within a safe, inclusive, and expertly managed environment.
With five beautiful woodland locations across the UK (Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire, Kent & Yorkshire), you are sure to find one of its campsites nearby.
Here’s what makes their trips stand out:
Unique, hands-on activities: From survival skills like shelter-building and fire-lighting to immersive challenges such as plane-crash rescue scenarios, your students will experience adventures they simply won’t find elsewhere.
Full engagement with no waiting around: Unlike many providers where students spend time queueing or watching, with The Bushcraft Company every child is involved from start to finish, keeping them fully active, challenged, and supported.
Inclusive and tailored: The Bushcraft Company welcomes every learner and adapts activities to meet special educational needs, dietary requirements and diverse group dynamics, ensuring no campmate is left out.
Transparent, all-inclusive pricing: Trips to Bushcraft Company campsites have no hidden fees – everything from accommodation to food and activities is covered.
Skills that last a lifetime: During your visit, students will develop confidence, build leadership and problem-solving skills and connect to the outdoors instead of screens – valuable learning that will last well beyond your trip.
Plus, thanks to an exclusive partnership with Quality Coach Travel, all customers will receive special prices on their coaches when booking a Bushcraft Company school trip.
How does the trip link to the curriculum?
The Bushcraft Company brings classroom learning to life through hands-on outdoor activities that spark creativity and build practical skills.
Students can explore creative problem-solving, work together, and develop imagination through craft, music, and movement. They also build real-world cooking skills, from lighting fires to preparing food, and learning about heat, nutrition, and teamwork.
Science and geography are woven throughout the programmes as students investigate plants and natural habitats, practise fire-lighting and shelter building, and explore concepts like heat transfer and combustion.

Teaching resources provided
The Bushcraft Company offers bespoke, tailored packages for each group.
When you enquire with their team, they will discuss your group’s requirements and the national curriculum elements you are planning to cover to ensure your visit ticks every box.
During time at the campsite, The Bushcraft Company staff will lead all activities and provide all resources needed during the programme.
Minimum and maximum group size
All The Bushcraft Company’s campsites can accommodate small or large groups. There is a minimum group size of 25 and a maximum of over 300 (depending on campsite).
Details of risk assessment
The Bushcraft Company provides detailed risk assessments for its five campsites. These are regularly reviewed and are compliant with local authority safety guidelines. They are available on request.
Teachers are welcome to visit the centres all year round to perform their own assessment before planning a school trip to a Bushcraft Company site.
Safeguarding is the highest priority. All staff have passed enhanced DBS checks, and a full-time safeguarding officer is on hand to ensure the safety of every child.
The Bushcraft Company’s safeguarding policy and procedures are available on its website. You can also find the health and safety policy there.
All field cooks have food hygiene certificates, and cooking facilities are inspected regularly by the Food Hygiene Agency. Food intolerances, allergies, and religious requirements can be accommodated.
Equipment is regularly inspected for safety and maintained to a high standard.
The campsites have comprehensive public liability insurance to cover your group once you arrive. However, you will need trip insurance to cover your school group’s journey to and from the camp.
All centre leaders have first aid training, plus there is a detailed incident, emergency and communication plan in place. A 24-hour dedicated line is also in place to handle emergencies.
