The ‘educational entertainment centre’ KidZania London has announced its intention to offer one free class visit to every primary and secondary school in the UK.

KidZania London seeks to offer children between the ages of four and 14 an introduction to the world of work in a simulated city centre situated within the Westfield shopping mall in Shepherd’s Bush.

Said class visits will include free admission for up to 30 (primary) or 50 (secondary) and five accompanying adults and can be booked during weekdays (excluding school holidays and bank holidays) between now and 18th March 2016. Schools will need to cover their own transport, accommodation, merchandise and catering costs.

According to Dr Ger Graus, KidZania’s director of education, “We are so convinced of the educational value that KidZania offers, that we want every UK school to have the opportunity to experience it…Children can only aspire to what they know exists, and we look to offer experiential learning opportunities at their very best through curiosity, role-play and fun.”

The 60+ role-play activities in question range from enrolling in pilot school to making chocolate, overseeing a fashion show and firefighting, and aim to encourage skills in team work, communication, entrepreneurship and emotional intelligence.

To claim their free visit, schools should email schools@kidzania.co.uk or contact 0330 131 3331 with their booking enquiry, quoting the code ‘KidZania Primary’ or ‘KidZania Secondary’. Schools can book a visit on any weekday prior to March 18th 2016, with places available on a first come first served basis in accordance with the offer’s terms and conditions, the details of which can be found here.
