The Foundation’s ‘My Next Fairtrade Adventure’ resources focus on the impact that global climate change is having on farmers in developing countries around the world. They comprise a short film and supporting materials, including posters, ideas for classroom and assembly activities and fundraising suggestions.

The film follows 14-year-old Tayna (pictured above), a student from Enfield, London, as she talks to the tea farmers of the Michimikuru Fairtrade co-operative in Kenya about the effect that climate change has had on tea production, and some of the other factors responsible food and water shortages in developing countries.

According to Joanna Milis, Education Campaigns Manager at the Fairtrade Foundation, “My Next Fairtrade Adventure is a brilliant way to get students engaged in learning and understanding the causes and consequences of climate change, as well as deepening their knowledge about the difference Fairtrade makes. The resource is bound to initiate interesting eye-opening discussions in many classrooms across the UK, and we urge teachers to use it during Fairtrade Fortnight 2016, and beyond.”
