Rather than going down the generic route of a store-bought card, get your pupils crafting to create one of these personalised Father’s Day gifts.

Just a reminder – Father’s Day can be a sensitive time for some children, whether due to absence, loss or different family setups, so it’s worth considering your class’s individual circumstances before getting started.

Toilet roll craft

Help children celebrate Father’s Day with this fun and simple paper roll craft. Encourage little ones to personalise their creations to look like dad, grandad or another special male figure – using paint to match hair colour or adding details like a bright tie, beard or glasses to make it extra special.


Photo cube

This photo cube idea is as simple as it is flexible. You can take and print photos off in your school/nursery, or children can just draw pictures of themselves, family members, pets, their house, or all sorts of things.

Literacy activities for Father’s Day

This Father’s Day activity from Plazoom gives pupils the opportunity to write a newspaper report about the World’s Greatest Dad.

Children will explore why their dads are special, covering aspects of PSHE, and use the worksheet to create their very own newspaper report.

There is also a version of the newspaper which allows pupils to write about an alternative significant male (uncle, grandfather, step-dad) in their lives.
