When it comes to learning about water, a hands-on approach can help give pupils a real understanding of global issues around this vital resource.

Picture the scene – you go to school, but it has absolutely no access to piped water. WaterAid’s exciting Pupil Pipeline challenge asks pupils to come up with innovative ways to transport water by introducing them to a real school in Zambia which faces this exact problem.

The challenge is supported by a host of curriculum-linked educational resources, covering the water cycle, gravity and design technology. Learning about these core subjects through WaterAid’s work enables pupils to understand the issues regarding access to water being faced by communities around the world, and engage with the subject in an interactive and fresh way.
