Plazoom has opened up shop with a range of eye-catching content, all created by a team of experienced teachers who understand the challenges presented by the primary curriculum.

Early offerings include Challenge Maths, a series of activities set at three stretching levels of difficulty, and SPaG Gym – 15-minute lessons that strengthen pupils’ knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation before asking them to put this to use in a creative context.

There’s inspiration too in the form of lesson plans. The entomophagy (eating insects!) theme is sure to be a favourite, with pupils putting their persuasive writing skills to good use by enticing members of staff to swallow bugs.

A series of science investigations on light will also be popular, as they culminate in a thrilling escape room challenge.

Teachers looking for a change from more familiar formats will be pleased by the clean, colourful resource designs that look great in pupils’ books and, in the case of the interactive SPaG displays, on classroom walls as well. There are neat practicalities too, such as the space provided on worksheets for teachers’ feedback.

New teaching resources are being added to Plazoom every week for both KS1 and KS2, responding to what teachers need to support them in the classroom – be it collecting evidence for TAF or comprehension activities built around classic texts.

Resource creation at Plazoom is headed up by Education Content Manager Ian Stacey, a former education adviser, primary teacher and SLT member with 20 years’ classroom experience.

“At Plazoom, I wanted to create the resources for which I was always searching but could rarely find,” says Ian.

“What we’re making is often challenging, always engaging and targets specific learning intentions in line with current educational thinking. We’ve put a lot of emphasis on high-quality design work too, so that our resources are eye-catching and appeal to students and teachers.”

To celebrate its launch, Plazoom has some fantastic free resources available for download, and teachers who sign up to the newsletter can expect to receive even more free content each week.
