We all know our Witches from our Twits. We’re all familiar with Oompa-Loompas and Boggis, Bunce and Bean. But do you know your frothbuggling from your crodsquinkled?

In honour of Roald Dahl’s numerous invented words, his Gobblefunk, we’ve put together a quick quiz for you and your students to try on Roald Dahl Day or any other time.

You’re given a definition and have to match it to the made-up word.

You may know some from reading the books, others are compound words which should be a good test for young pupils to match up the clue and answers and others are just plain bonkers.
