Developing a talent for science starts with being nosy. ‘Doing science’, rather than just learning about scientific ideas and facts, is a matter of bringing a certain attitude to the subject (the same one, incidentally, that proves invaluable when studying most other subjects). And that attitude is curiosity, which most immediately expresses itself through noticing things and asking questions. These clever ideas will encourage children to notice, and ask questions about, the world around them.
