What’s new for 2024?
We are reissuing 100 titles in larger hardback formats across a wide range of well-loved fairy tales, exciting non-fiction and much more. The levelling has been improved to support steady reading progression and closely aligns with the UK school curriculum.
Every title is book-banded and Lexile-measured and has been developed with education and subject specialists.
How do I use it?
These books are carefully graded into five levels, beginning with level 0 for first phonics practice and ending with level 4 to achieve reading fluency.
Read It Yourself supports reading fluency by introducing children to the words that are most commonly used in English.
Being able to read these words confidently and accurately helps them to quickly become independent readers and begin reading for pleasure.
What else is included?
Each book starts with helpful guidance for grown-ups on how to use the series and ends with comprehension questions and fun activities to gently test the readers’ understanding of the text.
Online resources can also be found to accompany the books at ladybirdeducation.co.uk. These include brand-new audio tracks for all 100 titles and levelling breakdowns.
