Northamptonshire-based playground specialists, Timotay Playscapes has been awarded two gold awards for its entries for Westbrook Hay (Independent School) and Stanwick Lakes (Family Attraction in Northamptonshire).
The APL (Association of Professional Landscapers) Awards 2021 recognise landscaping projects that show technical and horticultural excellence, and which show attention to detail, technical excellence and an overall level of quality.
This year 45 companies with 73 projects made it to the finals which took place virtually on Friday 12 March.
Timotay Playscapes has been established since 1987 and employ a team of 70, and are based in Wollaston, Northamptonshire and Podington, Bedfordshire.
Timotay Playscapes believe that every child has the right to play, and they believe that wooden playground equipment creates a different and new aspect to natural play. Stanwick Lakes, which is one of the settings which was awarded a gold award is a countryside family attraction and nature reserve set in 750 acres in Northamptonshire and welcomes over 300,000 visitors each year.
The setting has made significant investment at the site in terms of playground and adventure facilities at the site. The design and build has created an inclusive playspace, that provides hours of fun for visitors. Westbrook Hay Prep School is the other setting which was awarded a gold award, is an independent situated in Hertfordshire, and prides itself for excellent academic standards and providing an all-inclusive community, and this latest investment allows children to learn and play outdoors in a high-quality and inclusive environment that has been designed and built to help children to connect with natural environments.
