There’s something special about being outside the classroom to explore real stories, different spaces and fascinating objects. That’s why thousands of teachers across the North West and beyond choose National Museums Liverpool for unforgettable learning experiences that bring the curriculum to life.
Our learning programmes at World Museum and Walker Art Gallery and our award-winning workshops at Museum of Liverpool spark curiosity and deepen understanding across subjects.
Whether pupils are walking in the footsteps of ancient Egyptians, Greeks or Romans, or exploring Liverpool’s global connections, or discovering the science behind our planet, each visit is designed to inspire.
We offer curriculum-linked workshops, self-led trails and digital resources for EYFS through to Key Stage 4. Sessions are led by experienced facilitators who are brilliant at making complex ideas accessible, engaging and memorable.
“We’re here to support teachers not just with a great visit, but also with resources that enhance learning back in the classroom.”
A new addition is our On Tour learning programme from International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum, both currently closed for redevelopment.
While the building transforms, we’re bringing learning directly into classrooms and community settings, delivering powerful sessions that explore Liverpool’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, maritime heritage and their ongoing legacies.
These workshops combine historical evidence, personal stories and critical reflection and have been carefully designed for Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4.
We’re here to support teachers not just with a great visit, but also with resources that enhance learning back in the classroom. Whether you’re booking a workshop or planning your own self-led adventure, our dedicated learning team is ready to help.
