This tarsia puzzle for KS2 comprises 18 sets of equivalent fractions spread over 16 equilateral triangles. These go together to make one large equilateral triangle. We’ve included the solution in this download.
What is a tarsia puzzle?
It’s a type of educational puzzle often used in mathematics classrooms to reinforce concepts through problem-solving and critical thinking.
The puzzle consists of a set of polygons, triangles in this case, which you can rearrange to form a larger shape or grid.
How to solve it
To solve this puzzle, students must carefully consider the maths content of each piece and how they fit together, ensuring that the solutions align correctly when they assemble it.
