30 Second Briefing

Endeavour is Kew’s free interactive library of teaching resources, providing teachers with everything they need to deliver inspiring lessons about plant science and the environment.

It’s packed with innovative teaching resources and curriculum-aligned activities for pupils of all ages, from early years through to Key Stage 5.

1. Teaching resources you can trust

Endeavour has been created for schools by experts and teachers at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Get pupils exploring nature-based solutions to some of humanity’s greatest challenges with resources grounded in Kew’s cutting-edge plant and fungal science research.

Spark curiosity, encourage active participation, and support critical thinking with lessons developed by experts in inquiry-based learning.

2. Save time delivering inspiring lessons

Find ready-made lesson guides, infographics, games and videos. Download them or use them on an interactive whiteboard – whatever works for you.

All Endeavour resources are curriculum-linked, and for KS4 and 5 they’re linked to exam boards.  Everything you need for exciting lessons on plant science and the environment is right here.

3. Inbuilt CPD

Did you know that fungi are more closely related to humans than plants? Or that some trees release chemicals called phytoncides, which have been found to boost the human immune system when we spend time among them?

Endeavour is packed with extra information to help you to feel confident teaching plant and environmental science.  Teacher answer sheets, background information, and wow facts will help you to bring your science and geography teaching to life.

4. Join a community of teachers

Take it from one of our 2023 competition winners: “The best thing about the Endeavour challenge was bringing biology to life in a way that ties into the syllabus but also in a way that may directly affect the pupils in years to come.”

Sign up to Endeavour and join a community of over 7,000 teachers who are inspiring the next generation of plant scientists.
