About the category

Nothing can inspire a love of storytelling and breed enthusiasm for reading and writing in young children better than a high-quality picture book. Our Picture Book category was open to any picture book aimed at learners aged 0–5, published in the period 1 April 2017 to 31 August 2018.

Lizzy Stewart

Lizzy Stewart teaches illustration at Goldsmiths University and has also taught courses at the Tate and on behalf of the National Portrait Gallery. She has written and illustrated two books for children, the first of which, There’s a Tiger in the Garden, won the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize for Illustrated Books in 2017.
