Science Teacher - Newport Secondary School - September 2020 until July 2021 - Paid to scale
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Science Teacher to work full time in a Newport secondary school starting in September. This is initially a one year temporary contract but for the right candidate could be permanent. This is an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers looking for a career change. The school want to ensure you join their journey and commit to their ethos when teaching. It has improved significantly in recent years and continues on that trajectory.
The school itself is based in the heart of Newport with excellent transport links. The science department has had a recent refurb which will give you the latest equipment to deliver engaging lessons. They are currently seeking a highly skilled teacher to provide an innovative & effective learning experience. The ideal Science teacher must:
Be passionate and knowledgeable, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to succeed
Register with the education workforce council
Hold an enhanced DBS
Two recent education references
The successful Science Teacher will be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
The school are looking to appoint ASAP and although returning to school on June 29th the interview will be held via zoom. There will be an opportunity to visit the school and meet the department before starting in September.
