Subject Leader - MFL

*This position attracts a TLR2a allowance of £2,721 per annum*

The Role
Due to increasing student numbers, we are currently seeking to appoint an exceptional person to lead our expanding MFL team, teaching French and Spanish.

The Department
Our MFL department currently consists of 4 excellent practitioners. We will provide a comprehensive support and mentoring programme for the successful candidate to ensure that you excel at your role and can fulfil your own ambitions and potential.

The School
Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have recently completed a further £10 million expansion project. We are seeking to appoint a passionate and a highly motivated individual, with a proven track record of success and of innovative teaching and learning strategies. This position will play a central role in guiding a vibrant, friendly and forward thinking team towards even better outcomes for our students. We are therefore seeking an experienced, dedicated and outstanding teacher with a unique approach to teaching and learning that inspires both colleagues and students.

Essential educational requirements

A degree in a subject related to the curriculum area.

Up-to-date in-service training in subject and whole school issues

Essential qualifications

QTS / QTLS

Essential skills and experience

Substantial recent successful experience of teaching at both KS3 and KS4

Experience of supporting students of differing abilities and backgrounds

Evidence of the use of new technologies to improve teaching and learning.

Evidence of the effective use of Assessment for Learning in engaging learners as partners in their learning.

Experience in the effective use of a wide range of teaching methodologies.
