What will students see and do?

Oaker Wood offers an abundance of outdoor activities for all ages. You’ll be spoilt for choice, with activities ranging from paintball, assault courses, high ropes, rafting and quad trekking to clay pigeon shooting and ‘woodland krypton’.

As well as activity days, the activity centre also offers the option for multi-day school residential trips.

The centre has two glamping villages with wooden glamping pods that sleep between four and eight students (in bunk beds). Each glamping village has a communal dining area and campfire spot.

An example itinerary for arrival day is as follows:

11am – Students arrive at Oaker Wood
12pm – Lunch
1pm – Low rope challenge
3.15pm – Break
3.30pm – Zip wire and monkey climbing
6pm – Supper
7pm – Campfire
9pm – Lights out

Breakfast is at 8.30am each morning.

For day trips, the most popular activities are the low ropes assault courses and the high ropes zip lines.

Oaker Wood also has giant inflatable obstacle courses that students can take part in. These are great for team-building days.

‘Woodland krypton’ is the perfect activity for team-building and working on communication skills. It’s a trail through the woods where students have to solve puzzles and guide themselves through the maze. They work in teams to be the fastest to the end of the course.
