Who’s Going to Bed?

Abie Longstaff and Eve Coy’s tale begins as a traditional, soothing wind down to sleep, all somnolent colours and rhythmical delivery – as the moon and stars shine above, everybody from the pirates to the monarchy get themselves tucked in and slowly drift off to the land of nod.

Until, that is, a cheeky baby arrives and starts doing what cheeky babies tend to do at bedtime.

In short, he couldn’t be less interested in sleep; rather he sets about drumming his way through the area, waking up everyone else and generally being a bad example.

It takes a sleepy dragon to persuade the mischievous infant to mend his ways and get everyone else – presumably by now completely exhausted – to remember what they’re supposed to be doing and head home.

Young children will love the subversive hero, while for adults – whether at home in the evening, or in the nursery in the lead up to nap-time – at least everything works out right in the end.
