Tabby has moved to a different town after a tough time, and is hoping that she might finally find a friendship group where she doesn’t have to pretend to be someone she isn’t.

Reading has always been her passion, so when she finds an invitation to join a book club for teenagers tucked behind a copy of The Bell Jar in the library, she decides to give it a try.

The Paper and Hearts Society may only have five members, including Tabby herself, but the mixture of quirky, story-obsessed characters and literary-themed adventures (not to mention the chocolate) on offer is irresistible, and it soon becomes her world.

Unfortunately, though, thanks to the reach of social media, she is still being hounded by a bully from her previous life, whose malicious attempts at sabotage will test the bonds between Tabby and her new friends to the limit.

The first in a planned series, this is an absorbing and uplifting yarn that’s perfect for any bookworm.
