Town and Gown – Make that mini-graduation a memorable one with Marston Robing

For your children, leaving and going to ‘Big School’ is a very big deal indeed – not just for them, but their families and your staff too.

That’s why a growing number of preschools and nurseries have started holding ‘graduation ceremonies’, so that this experience can be turned into a rite of passage that will always be remembered.

Hopes and aspirations

Robing children at a graduation ceremony is a way of crystallising the hopes and aspirations we all have for them. Parents and staff alike can testify to the emotional power and spectacle generated at a mini-graduation, and even sceptics are typically won over once they have attended a ceremony in person. That photograph on the wall will go on to become a lasting happy reminder for families of what was a very special day, and of those treasured nursery memories.

In 2008 we were the first to launch a range of gowns and hats specifically designed for children, giving us a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on – which we would be happy to share, should you have any questions or need advice on matters related mini-graduations and robes.

Schools and nurseries have the option to buy, hire or combine the two, depending on what’s most suitable for their budget. We offer three different gown sizes for 3- to 5-year-olds in satin or matte finishes, with a wide range of colours to choose from – many direct from stock. It’s also possible to specify a mix of colours based your school’s crest or logo. We can provide differently coloured tassels for hats, and would be happy to work with you on embroidering or printing in the most cost effective way.

We are official robe makers to the Children’s University, but children’s gowns are only one part of our business. We also have the privilege of being academic dress providers to a large number of universities, colleges and other adult educational institutions.
