Could the Swanneck ballpoint pen be the writing implement that left-handers have been looking for?

When it comes to learning penmanship at school, left-handers will typically find themselves at something of a disadvantage. The wrist contortions that many adopt to stop themselves from smudging their work can give rise to all manner of frustrations, from illegible ‘d’s and ‘b’s at one end of the scale, to physical pain and discomfort at the other.

Having witnessed first-hand the handwriting difficulties experienced by his daughter upon her entry to primary school, Anthony Hemmings partnered with friend Mike Deacon to found the company Swanneck Ltd. and set about devising the ultimate pen for left-handers.

The end result is a pen design that features an S-bend neck at the point where it’s gripped, thus enabling left-handed users to hold it comfortably at a balanced angle and while being to make out letters and words as they’re written. You can get a better sense of how it works via the below video:

Swan Neck pens can be purchased in blue or black versions and in a range of colour finishes from www.swanneckpen.com; a 20% discount is available for customers who specify a school delivery address and quote the order code ‘roseswan20’. For further details, contact 01454 325 873
