Secondary Teaching Resources from UK Parliament

What is it?

UK Parliament offers a wide range of free resources, which support primary and secondary school teaching about Parliament, politics and democracy.

UK Parliament Education’s dedicated Education Centre provides young people with the opportunity to visit and learn about democracy through an engaging and diverse series of workshops.

Schools visiting UK Parliament may be eligible for a subsidy to help with the costs of travel. UK Parliament also runs an outreach programme, provides teacher training and offers a range of curriculum-based resources to support teaching about Parliament and democracy.

These free resources support the curricula in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. They include online and printed activities with teacher notes, orderable booklets, assembly PowerPoints, games, lesson plans, videos and much more.

The teaching materials, which have been designed to suit different styles of learning, empower primary and secondary educators to teach topics right across the citizenship, history, SMSC, modern studies and politics curricula.

The teaching resources perfectly complement UK Parliament’s many other free education services.
