StoryStarter boosts pupils’ writing, speaking, listening and reading skills at Key Stages 1 and 2.
Pupils work together to create and build stories with LEGO bricks and figures, then use the unique StoryVisualizer software to visualise, write and communicate their work. It’s a hands-on tool that also encourages pupils to work together whilst creating building their stories, and an innovative way of teaching a range of skills, including:
• Writing, language, and reading skills • Communication; including speaking, listening, and presentation capabilities • Collaboration • Comprehension skills and enabling pupils to compose new stories or analyse existing ones • Digital skills with the unique StoryVisualizer Software
Mollie was a KS2 pupil who struggled with literacy for a couple of years, resulting in a lack of confidence and anxiety about going to school.
Here, Mollie’s parents discuss her progress after she began using StoryStarter.
Finally, her headteacher talks about the advances Mollie was able to make in her literacy attainment.
Mollie’s story shows how StoryStarter helped to make a difference both to her literacy learning and her enjoyment of school.
