Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: South Shields Daily Rate: £65 – £85 Start Date: Late October
GSL Education in Newcastle are actively recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a renowned special needs school and academy in South Shields, from October 2021.
The school is a specialist ASD setting with learners across KS2 3 and 4. The young people have learning difficulties and complex needs. The position is Monday to Friday working (phone number removed)pm. The positions are all long term for at least a school term for the right candidates. The role includes:
Assisting with promoting good , safe behaviour and kindness and helping to deliver academic work Treating children equally and with respect , whilst creating positive boundaries. Ensure a good relationship with parents and colleagues to create a protective environment so that children feel safe. Helping learners understand lessons and educational activity delivered by the teacher. The role involves assisting with individual pupils or across a class with other support assistants Qualities we look for:
Experience with young people or adults in any setting Knowledge about Primary National Curriculum or Secondary Resilience, confidence, and proactivity The ability to build rapport with hard to reach young people Experience or a desire to gain experience , in an ASD setting You must have a child-only enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to make one through GSL.***
