"More than showing you how to use Numicon, Numicon Professional Development focuses on good practice for teaching and learning maths, supporting you in raising achievement by developing your confidence and subject knowledge. Join us for a day of engaging practical activities and discussion. Explore how Numicon can support you in developing deep mathematical understanding in your children. This one day workshops are designed to give you the opportunity to:

  • Understand how the Numicon approach and teaching materials can support the mastery of mathematics
  • Explore how the Numicon approach supports mastery through the use of concrete resources, Numicon teaching support materials and tools
  • Experience a range of low threshold, high ceiling Numicon activities designed to develop mastery
  • Discover the potential of Numicon in developing conceptual and procedural fluency
  • Consider the role reasoning skills and problem solving have in the wider mastery agenda
  • Collaborate on ways in which you will use Numicon to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics back in your school, inspiring you to develop resilient and confident mathematicians"
