How well and how soon should we prepare students interested in careers in medicine by supporting them to develop the sought-after characteristics as well as subject knowledge?
Could earlier development opportunities widen access into these competitive careers?
The aim of this lesson is to help ambitious KS4 students practice the mental abilities that have been identified by medical and dental schools as important in their current approaches to entrance testing and interviews.
Why teach this?
Positive early experiences with doctors and dentists often provide the inspiration to pursue a career in medicine or dentistry. This lesson looks at ways to nurture these ambitions as early as KS4.
